A Hindhead man has been arrested after police responded en masse to reports of an assault in Churt on Thursday last week.
Villagers reported a large police presence in Thursley Road on the morning of Thursday, December 28.
Surrey Police has since confirmed officers were called to reports of an assault at around 9.30am.
A 38-year-old man from Hindhead was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He has been released on police bail.
