THREE men appeared in court on Tuesday charged with a series of burglaries in Haslemere, Chiddingfold and Liphook plus a string of other homes across the south.
Lewis Kelleher, 30, of Byerley Road, Portsmouth, Sami Hussain, 25, of Edith Road in Hammersmith, and Richard Ashley Hart, 34, of Conigham Road, Hammersmith, appeared before Staines Magistrates Court charged with conspiracy to burgle – including three raids in Bramshott.
The arrests were made during early morning raids the day before, after warrants were granted to officers from Surrey Police and Hampshire Constabulary, who swooped on addresses in Portsmouth, Fulham and Hammersmith, in London.
Between November 16, last year, and July 10, a number of properties were broken into in Haslemere, Farnham, Esher and Warlingham in Surrey, Liss, Liphook, Alton and Ropley in Hampshire, and Petworth, in Sussex, as well as further afield.
Their charges covered 27 offences of burglary – 15 in Surrey, 10 in Hampshire, one in Sussex, and one in Hertfordshire.
Kelleher, Hussain and Hart have been remanded and will next appear for a plea hearing at Guildford Crown Court on Thursday, August 16.
Among the properties targeted were homes in: Brook Road, Wormley; High Street Green, Chiddingfold; Kemnal Park, Beech Road, Stoatley Rise and Bunch Place, Haslemere; Liphook Road, Headley; and Church Road and Tunbridge Lane, Liphook.
A large quantity of jewellery was taken in Bunch Lane, while a number of expensive watches were taken from a house in Stoatley Rise.
Mobile phones, cash and jewellery were taken in the break-in in Beech Road, police told The Herald.
