BORDON and Whitehill’s Deadwater Valley Trust hosted a Walk, Make and Bake event in the woods on Saturday.

Held in the Bordon Inclosure, near Quebec Park, the event saw people enjoy guided walks and craft activities before an afternoon of camp-fire food.

“It was a really lovely event,” trust community ranger Jenny Clarke said.

“We had just over 50 people there, all pre-booked, and everyone had a great time. We have had some lovely feedback.

“Jamie Cummins and Freya Prince led the guided walks around the Inclosure.

“There were crafty activities for people to try: willow weaving, leaf bashing, clay faces on trees and cooking over the campfire. People made their own stinging-nettle fritters and chapatis.

“We also enjoyed sausages and homemade soup. The atmosphere was really relaxed and enjoyed by everyone.”
