ALARM bells have been ringing among users of the Alice Holt Forest and the Bourne Woods following publication last week of the Defra consultation on the future of the Forestry Commission-managed forests.

In classifying Alice Holt as a 'mixed forest' and not a 'heritage forest', the document points to a future sale of the historic woodland park.
