Sammy de Laszlo looks like any other 14-year-old, playing with his favourite cars or trying to chase his 16-year-old brother Thomas in the park.
But he cannot keep up with his brother because he has an incurable genetic muscle wasting condition called Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
He cannot produce dystrophin, a protein needed to build muscles, and as a result his life expectancy is between 27 and 30 years.
Sammy attends Treloar’s in Holybourne and his family started Muscular Dystrophy UK’s Bake a Difference fundraising campaign.
His father Oliver de Laszlo said: “We are inviting schools, families and workplaces to see if they could be the secret ingredient to making a difference and to join us in the fun on November 3 and host a bake sale.”
