WHITEHILL & Bordon district councillor Adam Carew is asking men to grow a fun moustache for Movember, an international campaign to raise awareness about men’s health issues this month.

The Movember campaign was set up in Australia and has rapidly grown into a worldwide phenomenon.

Cllr Carew said: “Obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancer affect both sexes but they are all a real problem for men.

“There are also specific medical issues that only affect men, such as prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Depression and suicide is much higher in men.

“Growing a moustache in November is just a fun way of raising awareness about men’s health. There are plenty of styles to choose from – many are featured on the Movember website.

“If any of these men’s issues concern you, please talk to friends and family and speak to your GP. It should not be embarrassing or considered a sign of weakness. It isn’t.”
