HEADLEY Beavers were feeling charitable when they helped the Bordon Food Bank.
The project started with Food Bank co-ordinator Heather Ford visiting the Beavers to talk to them about the work the charity does in the community.
“The following week we went to Bordon Tesco, split into groups, looked at what would be appropriate and why things are not appropriate (for donation),” said Julie Foster from the 1st Headley Scout Group.
“Then the groups of Beavers ventured on to the shop floor, with their money, and purchased items on a shopping list written by themselves.”
Ms Foster said that this was a “fun independence-building evening”, with children happy to support a local cause.
“The following week we had a look at what we had purchased and then, at the Bordon and Whitehill Christmas fair, we presented Mavis from the food bank with our goodies, including 50 mini cards with festive messages from the Beavers,” added Ms Foster.
