Glow sticks at the ready – the Big Fish Little Fish family-friendly rave is set to return to the Farnham Maltings this Saturday (February 9) from 2pm to 4pm.
Big Fish Little Fish is a rave for families, a place where parents and young children can party together to dance music from the late 80s to the present day.
One of the key things about BFLF is that they book credible, and sometimes very well known DJs - Terry Farley, Aphrodite, The Orb, Hot Chip, Basement Jaxx, 2 Bad Mice and Plastician have all graced the decks at Big Fish Little Fish - who play the same sort of tunes that they would play to an adult-only crowd.
Since they started back in 2013, Hannah Saunders and her team have perfected all the little extras that keep BFLF fresh and exciting for the whole family: a craft table, fancy dress themes (Farnham’s is ’We Can Be Heroes’, so expect lots of little Supermen and Wonder Women dancing around under the bubble machines and confetti cannons), free glow sticks and transfer tattoos and a babies-only corner where weary parents can take a break with their babies on soft mats with picture books and a ball pool for them to have fun in away from the older children.
If you’re wondering, yes there is a licenced bar for the adults - so grab a pint, put your toddler on your shoulders and dance the afternoon away as you re-live your youth to the banging tunes of 90s rave, drum n bass, techno and house played by their brilliant in-house DJ duo Baker & Beale.
Big Fish Little Fish is at Farnham Maltings on Saturday, February 9 from 2pm to 4pm. Tickets are available from https://farnhammaltings.com/events/big-fish-little-fish-family-rave/ (Adults £13, children £9 and pre-walking babies go free).
