A BORDON man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving last Friday evening, after two vehicles collided at the junction of Paper Mill Lane and Normandy Street in Alton.

The crash occurred just before 8pm, when a black BMW M3 was in a collision with a silver Peugeot 206.

The South Central Ambulance Service responded to a call out at 7.58pm, with two rapid-response vehicles and a road ambulance arriving at the scene, to join the police.

The driver of the Peugeot, an 18-year-old woman from Alton, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, and was taken by road to the North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke.

The driver of the BMW, a 23-year-old man from Bordon, was initially taken to the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester as a precaution but did not suffer any injuries. He was later arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle dangerously. He has been bailed by police, pending further enquiries, until February 17.
