UNDAUNTED by current restrictions, Bohunt School and Sixth Form is going online to celebrate its GCSE and A-level visual arts students in the class of 2020 with a virtual exhibition, to which all are invited.
To enable visitors to safely experience the art, artwork from students across Bohunt Education Trust (BET) will be hosted from 6pm tomorrow (Friday) virtually, via the BET website.
Trust leader Neil Strowger will welcome visitors to the event, and visitors will then be able to view artwork via links to schools’ websites. After this time, the exhibition will remain open throughout July.
Lucasta McMullen, head of art at Bohunt School, said: “Our students have worked tremendously hard, as always, to produce some truly outstanding work. Although we are unable to offer people the chance to visit our school this year, we are delighted to showcase their fantastic achievements online.
“Well done to all our students for their hard work and thank you to all the parents who have supported children at home.”
Gary Leeson, BET visual arts co-ordinator, said: “The visual arts are a vital part of the glue that helps to develop a sense of community and belonging. The annual visual art exhibitions are an important part of our educational offering, and something students and staff enjoy, as they celebrate the creative efforts of all.
“They are also a fantastic opportunity for younger students to be inspired to emulate their older peers.
“Moving online provides a perfect platform upon which to showcase our students’ outstanding efforts. I am incredibly proud of all of them!”
The exhibition is free and open to the public. Visit www.bohunttrust.co.uk/virtual-arts-exhibition/ for more details and to register your interest in attendance.
