PUPILS in Rainbows, Oak and Apple classes at St Matthew's School in Blackmoor have held an early Easter party.

The event was organised by Hayley Keet and Clare Woods, from the school's Parents, Teachers and Friends Association, helped by other parents and teachers.

Held outside in glorious sunshine, there was an Easter egg hunt, party games, and Easter cakes on offer.

And bringing colour to the occasion was an array of Easter bonnets, which were entered into a competition and judged by governors Angela Poston and Tracey Kirkby.

Commenting on the standard of bonnets, Duncan Sanders, chairman of the association, remarked on what a hard job the judges had with so many wonderful entries to choose from.

Eventual winners were Ewan Buchanan (Rainbows), Lexi Grinstead (Oak), and Grace Lilley (Apple).
