A MAN from Bordon had to be cut from his car after it ended up on its roof in a ditch in East Tisted.

The 24-year-old was seriously injured and taken to hospital by ambulance following the accident shortly before 1pm on Monday.

Emergency services were called to Plain Farm Lane, where fire crews, ambulance personnel and police saw a silver Honda Jazz which had left the road and landed on its roof in a ditch.

The driver was trapped inside the vehicle.

Fire crews from Winchester, Droxford and Cosham used cutting equipment to release him and he was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews from Winchester, Droxford and Cosham were called shortly before 1pm on Monday afternoon following a road traffic accident on Plain Farm Lane in East Tisted.

“The car had left the road and ended up on its roof down a bank, with one casualty trapped inside.

“Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service used cutting equipment to release the driver, who was handed over to South Central Ambulance Service paramedics for treatment.

“After making the scene safe, crews returned to station following the stop message at 2.13pm.”

Hampshire Constabulary also attended.
