IT was celebration time when Headley Bowling Club held its annual presentation dinner at the Georgian Hotel, in Haslemere.

After the meal, on Saturday, October 28, the toast to the club was proposed by president Don Stephens.

He congratulated members for maintaining their “tremendous effort” in supporting local charities and remarked on the club’s “splendid spirit”. Assisted by competition secretary David Rowlandson, who spoke of the high standards this year, the president presented trophies to winners and runners up:

* Men’s singles: winner Don Stephens; runner-up John Milton.

* Ladies singles: Sylvia Burrows; runner-up Sue Moss.

* Bailey singles: Paul Berry; runner-up John Milton.

* Two-wood singles: Paul Wareham; runner-up Paul Berry.

* Novice singles: John Martin; runner-up Anne Holman.

* Chosen pairs: Betty and Don Stephens; runner-up Sylvia Burrows and Richard Bousher.

* Drawn pairs: Sylvia Burrows, Peter Osland; runner-up Pat Clifford and Chris Holman.

* Disney trophy: Sylvia Burrows, Chris Holman; runner-up John Milton, Don Stephens.

* Triples league: Patti Archer, Diane Godwin, Bill Jordan, Paul Wareham, John Milton; runner-up Val Robinault, Sylvia Burrows, Roy Barrett, Cliff Hope, Russell Clifford.
