BORDON charity Furniture Helpline has said “please don’t let a few thoughtless people stop us from helping your community” as it recovers from a break in.
Would-be thieves targeted the charity (pictured), at Hampshire House in Hampshire Road, overnight on either Friday, February 23, or Saturday, February 24.
“We do not hold any cash on the premises so that is fortunate, but a broken window and damage to our CCTV system will mean the charity has the expense of replacing these items,” said operations manager Diane Page.
“The police and forensics team have visited but, due to lack of evidence, the case is closed.
“We collect donated furniture and pass it on, at a reduced cost, to low-income families or free to people in a crisis situation.
“We provide a valuable service to the community and can ill afford the expense that this break in has incurred.”
Anyone with information on the break in should call Hampshire police on 101.
