CARE home staff and residents at Waverley Grange Bupa Care Home in Farnham held a fundraising day for breast cancer awareness charity Breast Cancer Now.

The care home engaged in Breast Cancer Now’s 20th #WearItPinkDay and raised £116 by donning pink clothes, holding a raffle, and hosting a cake sale.

Bupa also donated £116, bringing the total donation to £232.

Assistant chef Scott Smith baked pink cupcakes, carrot cake and cookies. Scott, along with receptionist Stacey Gale, also sported pink tutus, legwarmers, necklaces and wigs.

Stacey, who organised the #WearItPinkDay, said: "We’re so thankful to everyone who got involved and for their contributions.

"It was lovely to see everybody dressed in pink - none of us could stop smiling all day."

Hari Ciobanu, resident experience manager at Waverley Grange, added: "We are proud to support Breast Cancer Now, and are so pleased Bupa is matching the amount raised.

"Our community of staff and residents really got behind this fundraising event and it was great to see everyone having lots of fun while we raised vital funds for such a worthy cause.

"With #WearItPinkDay having been such a success, we are excited to host more fundraisers in the future."
