THE THREE Horseshoes in East Worldham has new tenants - Mark and Alison Evans, who arrived from South Africa with a dream to run a traditional English pub.

It was a year ago that the couple, and their son Christopher, packed up their belongings in their native Cape Town to pursue their shared dream of running a quintessential country pub.

Alison said: "It’s been a pipedream of ours for years, to run a fantastic English pub with a crackling log fire and a walled garden - and I can’t believe we are actually doing it. It really is a dream come true.

"While we are all about the food, Mark and I also want to play a big part in the community - we plan to make The Three Horseshoes the hub of our neighbourhood, hosting parish council meetings, school PTAs, sewing meets and darts clubs.

"Our menu will feature a delicious combination of comforting classics and more contemporary creations. We are truly inspired by the incredible array of exceptional British produce available, especially in our neck of the woods, which is why our seasonal and specials boards will change regularly to take advantage of the deliciousness available.

"We’re lucky to have our amazing head chef Dean Wandsworth on board too. He brings his passion for traditional techniques to the pub and completes our team perfectly.

"And in tribute to our own personal journey, we will be offering some amazing South African wines alongside great British dishes."
