A BORDON apprentice has been honoured at the House of Commons for excelling in his studies and encouraging fellow young people.

Jack Ford was named a runner-up at last week’s Young Builder of the Year Awards.

The event, organised by Youthbuild UK, celebrates the achievements of young people in the construction industry.

Training through the Future Skills Centre, Jack began his construction journey at nearby Mill Chase Academy during workshops held as part of Barratt Homes’ educational programme. He now works at Barratt Homes’ New Quarter development in Bordon and said last Wednesday’s ceremony was “an amazing day”.
