A CAMPAIGN has been launched targeting early detection of kidney and bladder cancer.

In Hampshire, around 400 new cases of both cancers are diagnosed each year, and the Be Clear on Cancer campaign is keen to push people to beware of the warning signs.

Patricia Stallard, Hampshire County Council’s executive member for health and public health, said: “We want to raise awareness that if you find blood in your pee, even if it is just the once, it is not normal. The chances are that it will not be serious but these cancers are more treatable if they are found early.

“You will not be wasting your GP’s time and if it is not serious, your mind will be put at rest.”

Bladder and kidney cancers affect both men and women.
