THERE is good news for some of the 49 people on the waiting list for allotments in Whitehill and Bordon.

East Hampshire District Council's community forum has agreed to award £8,000 of developer's contributions to Whitehill Town Council to help provide 16 new allotments on land at Saville Crescent, after the demolition of the derelict Alexandra Centre.

It means the town council now has enough money to start work on the £32,000 project.
