YOUNGSTERS have read their way to a party after finishing the Space Chase Summer Reading Challenge at Bordon Library.

Across Hampshire, 25,125 children aged four to 11 signed up to follow an astronaut family as they chased aliens who were trying to steal their books. The challenge was to read six books during the summer, collecting stickers as they finished each one, and at the end they received a medal and a certificate.

In Bordon, there were almost 400 finishers and the children read a huge 2,269 books.

To celebrate their achievement, Bordon Library hosted a Finishers Party on September 24.
