The Renaissance Choir will sing Rachmaninov’s Vespers under the baton of Peter Gambie at St Peter’s Church in Petersfield on Saturday at 7.30pm.

The work comprises a glorious tapestry of wide-ranging vocal textures including soaring sopranos and subterranean basses, and rich harmonies supporting wonderful melodies based on eastern European Orthodox traditions.

Rachmaninov’s sacred choral masterpiece is rightly regarded by many musicians as being the finest example of Russian sacred music.

Tickets, priced £13 (£2 under-25s), are available from One Tree Books in Petersfield, by visiting https://renaissancechoir.org.uk, or on the door.
