GREATHAM Primary School held its annual Christmas fair at the weekend, raising thousands of pounds for the village school in the process.
Jo Smith, chairman of Friends of Greatham School, said that Saturday’s event “went really well”, with some 800 people in attendance and more than £4,500 generated.
“The total raised would not be possible without the support of the school, parents and children and the local businesses that sponsored stalls,” she said.
“Amiri Construction (Fareham) sponsored the Mill Cottage Farm Experience (from Alton), Altis (Lindford) sponsored the barbecue and CS Chimneys (Liss) sponsored the grotto.
“The fair was busy throughout, and there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere.”
The money will be used to pay for outdoor static play equipment for the children.
The school was built in 1911 and has seven classes, which can cater for up to 210 children. Currently there are 191 children on the roll from Greatham, Empshott, Whitehill and Bordon, Selborne, Liss, Liss Forest, and Liphook.
