AFTER struggling to make ends meet, Greatham's only shop has closed.

Greatham Stores closed on December 31 with owner Jock Trodden, a Greatham parish councillor, saying the business was too expensive to run.

"The shop's not viable, it's as simple as that," he told the Bordon Herald. "I was pumping money from another business into it and never, not in one clear month, did it break even, let alone make a profit."
