STAFF and students at Alton College bade a fond farewell to two of its longest-serving members of staff at the end of the spring term.

Both Barbara Wills and Barbara Frater retired after a combined period of 57 years’ service.

Barbara Frater, the Learning Resources Centre manager, joined the college in 1987 and nursery manager Barbara Wills started working at the college in 1990.

A college spokesman said that they would both be sorely missed by staff, students, nursery children and parents alike, and everyone wished them all the best for their retirement.
