WORK to transform the former Louisburg Barracks, in Bordon, has reached a milestone, with Barratt Developments and land owner the Homes and Communities Agency laying a commemorative stone.

A total 500 new homes are being built, with construction work by Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes under way and the first homes due for launch in the new year.

Barratt managing director Tim Hill said the development was supporting more than 1,500 jobs during the construction and sales phases and providing much-needed homes.
