A local café is offering a warm welcome to veterans and serving military personnel every Tuesday morning.

Café 1759, a not-for-profit community café in Whitehill and Bordon, is running a weekly veteran’s breakfast from 9am, giving those who have served – or are currently serving – a chance to meet, chat, and enjoy a 10 percent discount on food and drinks.

Lottie Levin, café manager, said: “At Abri, we’re committed to building cohesive communities and spaces for people to create meaningful connections with the places they live. The veteran’s breakfast at Café 1759 provides an ideal space for veterans and those currently serving in the local area to come together, share a conversation and enjoy a discounted coffee and fresh food every Tuesday.

“Given that Café 1759 sits in the former Gymnasium of Quebec Barracks, a historic British Army site, it feels especially important for us to recognise and celebrate those who have contributed to the area’s rich history.”

The café forms part of Abri’s community investment programme, which supports East Hampshire District Council’s Healthy New Town agenda. Through the programme, Abri delivers events, activities, and services designed to strengthen local neighbourhoods.

Café 1759 takes its name from the Battle of Quebec, a pivotal moment in the Seven Years’ War. It is located among the original buildings of the Quebec Barracks, built between 1903 and 1910, combining local history with a modern community spirit.

The veteran’s breakfast is open to all veterans and serving personnel and runs every Tuesday at 9am. For those interested in attending, the café encourages visitors to pop in and enjoy the opportunity to connect over a hot drink and fresh breakfast.
