Farmer’s wife and TikTok cooking star Lou Graham recently won a bake-off competition held during The Great British Farm-Fest.
This new event was held at the NAEC Stoneleigh exhibition venue in Coventry and organised by Clarkson’s Farm co-hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Lisa Hogan, Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland.
Clarkson’s Farm follows the former Top Gear and current Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? presenter Jeremy Clarkson as he attempts to run Diddly Squat Farm, a 1,000-acre working farm in the Cotswolds, near Chipping Norton and Chadlington in Oxfordshire.
The idea of The Great British Farm-Fest was to raise the profile of farming in the UK by combining it with a fun music festival.
People with a talent for baking were invited to apply to take part in The Great British Farm-Fest Bake-Off, and one of those selected was former Perins School pupil Lou Graham.
Lou married farmer Oli Graham, who runs Manor Farm in Ropley, in June last year, with a huge green tractor featuring in their wedding photographs.
On her TikTok page #fieldmeals she shares the meals she prepares at home to deliver to the farmers working out in the fields during harvest time.
Lou’s friend Debbie Herring explained how she overcame some challenging conditions to win the contest, which was held over a scorching late May bank holiday weekend.
Debbie said: “On Sunday May 24 Lou took the two-hour journey to Stoneleigh Park to take part in the bake-off competition in the Field to Fork Cookery barn.
“It was no mean feat icing a cake in 27-degree heat, while also being chatted to by The Great British Bake Off star Mike Wilkins.
“The icing was melting as fast as she could add it, but she managed a fantastic Diddly Squat Farm-themed cake to be crowned as winner of the Sunday competition.”
