WHITEHILL Town Council has vowed to get "solid policies" in place so councillors can "pun-ch above their weight" and be seen as a credible organisation as the regeneration of the town begins to take shape.

At the town council's full council meeting last Mon-day, November 25, councillors discussed their ongoing one-year strategic plan, which outlines a set of policies and viewpoints aimed at making their targets more "coherent".

Council leader Andy Tree told councillors that now was the time to be "setting out objectives" and "looking to meet them".

He added with key issues such as the upcoming inner relief road and housing developments, people needed to be "reassured" the council was doing all it could to represent their concerns.
