WHITEHILL Town Council has objected to plans to build 12 homes in Hogmoor Road.

Kebbell Homes Ltd hopes to construct 12 dwellings on the sand pit South of Moorlands, in Hogmoor Road.

The town council voted unanimously in favour of objecting to the proposal at its planning committee meeting last Monday.

They felt the homes would lead to an unacceptable loss of open space and would "decimate" the Site of Import-ance for Nature Conservation.

Councillors also thought the scheme would add pressure to the Special Protection Areas and would create an "unacceptable" increase in traffic.

The proposals will come before East Hampshire District Council's planning committee in the near future.

The planning committee is the decision-making body, but it takes into account the town council's views.
