HAMPSHIRE County Council insisted this week that its views on the Kingsley Quarry proposal, thought to have been long out of the picture, haven't changed.
The comments of a county council spokesman followed concerns raised by councillor Adam Carew, who represents Bordon, that the controversial scheme could "slip in the back door".
His concerns followed the revelation that the area is rich in high-grade silica sand, which is nationally in short supply.
But this week the county council spokesman reiterated that, at present, the council's concerns, and the previous reason for the super-quarry scheme at Bakers Corner in Kingsley being thrown out, still stand.
