WHITEHILL Town Council has announced changes that will make the way it handles its money more secure following "financial irregularities" in past years.

As a result of an internal investigation earlier this year, councillors agreed new procedures - to safeguard finances - at their full council meeting on Monday.

Councillors also received the final report from an external auditor which they brought in to help make their finances watertight.
