IT’S BEGINNING to look a lot like Christmas in Petersfield as the clock is counting down to the Big Switch On.

The final preparations for tomorrow’s event took place last Friday with lights being lifted into place along the High Street.

The tree has arrived on The Square and decorations are also in place on Rams Walk and ready to dazzle.

Big crowds are expected to gather in The Square for the Christmas Lights Switch On, organised by Hometown Community Events on behalf of Petersfield Town Council.

The fun begins at 5pm with performances by the Petersfield Infant School Choir, Herne Junior School Choir, Herne Junior Brass Band, TPS Band, and the Petersfield Salvation Army Band with classic carols.

Numerous charity groups will set up stalls but visitors should keep an eye out for The Grinch, with rumours afoot he’s threatening to foil the grand reveal at 7pm.

The High Street will be closed to traffic from 4pm to 9pm to allow festivities to take place.
