A LAST stand had been expected by Ken Moon, the embattled leader of East Hampshire District Council, with a motion on the agenda, in black and white, to depose him.

But a secret vote the night before meant there was no last stand from Mr Moon to keep his leadership seat at East Hampshire District Council. Months of backstabbing and criticism ended last Thursday, May 9, when Ferris Cowper rec-laimed the leadership at Penns Place.

His ascent was made smoother by Mr Moon's decision to resign hours before he faced a motion to remove him as leader.
