THE team behind a new cinema in Liphook says it is set to open in the spring, as a planning application for signs is submitted to East Hampshire District Council.

The Living Room Cinema off the village square is the vision of local resident Claire Beswick and is in a former car showroom, with a state-of-the-art auditorium in a purpose-built extension.

Last summer the cinema, that aims to show films from Hollywood blockbusters to art house and niche films, advertised front-of-house and marketing roles.

Now an application is with planners for a traditional 6.8m and 1m high cinema sign reading The Living Room Cinema and signs advertising the cinema’s programme and its cafe/bar.
