DEMOCRACY is coming to the Forest Community Cinema in Bordon, which is preparing to host its first trailer-viewing evening on November 27.

The event, held at the Pinehill Road centre, will start at 7.45pm when the audience will be able to watch a selection of recently released trailers, including documentaries and blockbuster movies.

Attendees will then be given the opportunity to score each film based on the details provided and on the trailer itself.

The highest-rated films will be put forward to the cinema organisers for screening in the new year.

The evening is open to anyone living locally and who is interested in seeing films at the community cinema.

“We want to make the process of selecting the films more democratic,” said Lawrence Tristram, chairman of the Whitehill and Bordon Community Association, which developed the cinema earlier this year.

Tickets for the evening are free, as are tea, coffee and biscuits which will be served during the interval. The bar will also be open.

The Forest Community Cinema hires its films via Moviola, a charity which enables rural and community venues to show films to benefit communities which do not have commercial cinemas nearby.
