TWO men have been charged following a police pursuit between Farnham and Hindhead in the early hours of Saturday, September 1.

The pursuit began after a grey Audi A4 escaped away from officers in Farnham around 12.25am, leading to a chase along the A31 Farnham bypass and the A325 through Wrecclesham and Bordon before heading northbound on the A3.

The fleeing car exited just before the Hindhead tunnel but lost control on a left-hand bend and collided with a tree.

The two occupants were arrested and taken to the Royal Surrey County Hospital, in Guildford, with minor injuries.

Amin Lais, 20, of East Ham, London, was charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop, using a motor vehicle without insurance or a licence, possession of cannabis, two counts of possession with intent to supply class-A drugs and possession of criminal property.

A 16 year old male, not named for legal reasons, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply class-A drugs and possession of criminal property.

Mr Lais denied all charges when he appeared at Staines Magistrates Court on September 3. He will next appear at Guildford Crown Court on October 1.

The 16 year old is due to appear at Camberwell Green Magistrates’ Court on September 26.
