THE first of Bordon's eco houses are to be built after East Hampshire District Council takes ownership of the old fire station, according to a plan under discussion.

At last week's cabinet meeting, it was announced that negotiations were going on between the council and the Ministry of Defence to buy the Victorian building, which dominates the crossroads in Bordon, and the land behind it on which will be built six or seven eco-houses.
