PERINS School in Alresford has hailed the “excellent achievements of students through a period in education unlike any other in history” after this year’s GCSE results day last Thursday.

Executive headteacher, Steve Jones said: “Despite the unprecedented challenge faced this year, there have again been some exceptional individual performances across the range of GCSE subjects which include the difficult to attain Grade 9s.”

High-achievers included Joe Bundy, who attained 10 grade 9s, a full complement of grades at the highest level. Finlay Newman attained nine grade 9s, and one grade 8. Alice McPherson attained seven grade 9s, and three grade 8s.

Mr Jones added: “The school must also recognise Poppy Hughes, Cameron Mills and Millie Taylor whose consistent hard work was reflected in their results, leading to them making the most significant degree of progress in the year group, from KS2 to KS4.

“We wish to congratulate those named above and the many more like them who put in the hard work during their time at Perins to achieve an excellent set of results.”
