St Lawrence CE Primary School in Alton has received a glowing Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools report from the Church of England.

Inspectors praised how the school’s vision was “well embedded” and inspired leaders to make bold and purposeful decisions. Leaders and governors were commended for “engaging in meaningful partnerships”.

The report described St Lawrence as “a community built on love, compassion and respect”, and recognised collective worship as “central to school life”.

The inspector said the school should share its leaders’ “expertise and impressive practice” nationwide, and encouraged an extension of the whole-school approach to spirituality within the curriculum to further enrich pupils’ and adults’ personal experiences.

Headteacher Fiona Micklefield said: “We are thrilled that the inspection team recognised the strength and warmth of our community.”
