A TEAM from Mill Chase Academy in Bordon won the Above and Beyond competition at Alton College.

The contest required Mill Chase, Farnham Heath End School and Weydon School to make presentations on the topic A significant anniversary - then and now: Consider the impact of an event that may be commemorated in 2019.

A panel of judges asked participants to identify and research a line of enquiry, showing evidence of teamwork and in-depth investigation.

Mill Chase chose the development of the 190-year-old Metropolitan Police Force, which had just celebrated a century of employing female officers.

The judges were impressed with their research, which included an email exchange with Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick.

The team produced a folder showing use of a wide range of source material, and members dealt ably with questions from the panel.
