To mark the centenary of the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun, The Phoenix Theatre and Arts Centre in Bordon will show the story of another of the ancient Egyptians on November 26 at 7.30pm.

In The Mummy (PG), Boris Karloff stars as Imhotep, who was condemned and buried alive for sacrilege. It is set in 1921, when archaeologists find his mummified body and the Scroll of Thoth.

One night a member of the team reads the scroll aloud and goes insane on realising he has brought Imhotep back to life. Ten years later, disguised as a modern Egyptian, he tries to reunite with his lost love, reincarnated into a beautiful young woman.

The theatre will be decorated and the £12.50 ticket price includes an Egyptian-style supper and cocktail.
