AN elderly Bordon couple ended up paying £100 to have their lawn cut after being conned by two men who turned up at their Haweswater Close home in a white transit van.

On Thursday, June 24, between 11.30am and noon, the two men started cutting the front lawn outside the couple's house and when the male victim challenged them about what they were doing, the men tricked him into believing his wife had ordered the work earlier that day.

They then handed the victim a £100 bill for the work.
