Brook's legendary fête will return on the May 1 bank holiday Monday, celebrating both its 75th anniversary and the centenary of the village’s historic Pirrie Hall.

This year’s event will boast all the good old-fashioned family fun the fête is famous for, including a dog show, tombola, bric-a-brac, barbecue, plant sale, vintage cars, kids’ rides and games, as well as cakes, a tea tent and a Pimm’s tent.

“We are keen to retain the feel of a traditional village fête and offer something for all ages,” said fête co-organiser Jim Langham.

It will take place from 1pm, on the picturesque village green opposite The Dog and Pheasant pub.
