THE GROUP trying to keep a cinema in Alton is posting all its updates on a new Facebook page at www.facebook.com/savealtoncinema

Save Alton’s Cinema campaign leader Kat Guenioui said: “You can see we’ve done quite a lot of work already, but there is still a very long road ahead. I have been told from the outset that this is a non-starter – people at the council and elsewhere have said it simply can’t be done.

“They might be right. But with such strong community support for the cinema, and the clear message from owner Raj Jeyasingam that he would like the cinema to be taken on as a going concern, we really want to give it a try.”
