ENTRIES are open for the 34th Alton Ten road race, which is due to take place on Sunday, May 7.

Organised by Alton Runners and Alton Lions, this year’s 10-mile race will start at 10.30am from the driveway at Treloar College in Holybourne.

The route will take the field out through Holybourne village and along the country lane up to Binsted, carrying on to the Jolly Farmer pub, to turn left onto the Blacknest Road to Bentley Station, before turning left to Isington and back to Holybourne to finish at Eggar’s School.

The course is undulating and therefore unsuitable for wheelchair athletes – and the minimum entry age is 17 years.

Medals will be presented to all finishers, with trophies awarded to the first man and woman home in three age groups.

Entry information can be found online at www.alton

runners.co.uk

If the race limit of 700 has not been reached entries will also be taken on the day, at the late entry desk at Eggar’s School.

Entry fees are £15 for UKA attached runners and £17 for unattached runners. There will be a £2 surcharge for entries on the day.
