Farnham, Haslemere and Godalming have been ranked in the top ten most popular places to live in Surrey by lifestyle website Muddy Stilettos.

The site, in partnership with estate agents Strutt & Parker, asked readers across 28 counties to vote for the best places to live outside London, and more than 25,000 people participated in the survey.

The results revealed the strength of passion for each town or village’s sense of community, quality of local facilities and immediate surroundings.

Oxted was voted the number one town in Surrey, thanks to its pretty location at the foot of the North Downs and its burgeoning foodie scene.

Farnham, Haslemere and Godalming were ranked second, eighth and sixth, respectively.

Other towns and villages that made the top ten include Dorking, Reigate, Cobham, Ripley, Esher and Englefield Green.
