Billed as the biggest raffle ticket in town, the Farnham Lions’ 2022 Advent Calendar made its premiere at Farnham Food Festival and is now on sale at outlets across the town.

With more than 80 prizes donated by local businesses, most worth over £50, this year’s calendar boasts a wide range of gifts for adults and children, including meals out, adventure experiences and goods, culminating in a star prize on Christmas Eve of £500.

The charity Advent Calendar was launched by local artist Susie Lidstone in Castle Street just metres away from where the snowy painting on the front of the calendar was created.

Susie said: “I was delighted when approached by the Lions to use my painting this year – it’s a real pleasure to know my painting will be at the heart of this year’s fundraising effort, helping raise money that will be used in our home town.”

Lions president Mandy Main added: “We as a club want to thank all sponsors that between them paid for the printing of the calendar, helping us to maximise the money we can give back to local good causes.

“We’d like to show our appreciation to all the business that have been so generous and donated so many amazing prizes, the diversity of the gifts makes sure there’s something for everyone.

“The generosity of our local community never fails to astonish us all in the Lions.”

You can grab a calendar while the limited stock lasts from the Farnham Herald office in West Street, Morgan’s Butchers, A and D Car Care and Waverley Foot Clinic and at numerous town events in coming weeks.

President Mandy added: “I do want to give an extra special thanks to Susie Lidstone for letting us use such a beautiful painting of our town – without her support the calendar would not have the appeal that it does.
