THE FARNHAM Pilgrim Marathon will return this September for its 12th year.

Taking place on Sunday, September 12, it is one of the most popular marathons and regularly wins praise from runners and is organised by the Farnham Weyside Rotary Club.

Two years ago for the Pilgrim Marathon’s tenth anniversary, it was run in the reverse direction.

This was very popular, so it was decided to do this every other year, so this year it is also being run backwards.

The marathon will start from The Sands in Farnham, and will reach its halfway point at St Martha’s Church in Guildford.

A half marathon will also take place at the same time.

And new for this year is a new medal design, which comes thanks to the help of Winkworth Letting and Estate Agents.

The experience gained last year, when the event was carefully organised to be as Covid-safe as possible, will be continued this year also.

Funds raised from this year’s marathon will go to several local charities, particularly those which have helped with the marathon, for example, providing marshals.
