THE Christmas street-lighting scheme for the town is on hold because Whitehill Town Council has run out of money, it was revealed on Monday night.

With only £4,000 left in the kitty, the council could not meet the £15,250 request from the Whitehill and Bordon Town Partnership, which needs it to continue a three-year festive scheme designed to build community spirit and boost visitor trade.
