THE Bordon Area Action Group (BAAG) made a last-ditch attempt to persuade as many residents as possible to say 'no' to East Hampshire District Council's masterplan - the blueprint for the future eco-town - by calling an emergency public meeting last Friday night.

It was almost a full house at the town's Forest Community Centre, and BAAG chairman Steve Parsons said there would have been more "if the police hadn't ordered us to stop distributing our leaflets outside Tesco this evening, quoting the Public Order Act".
